Hello, my name is David and I would like to share with you about God’s everlasting love.
It’s about a son.
In this case I am talking about my son and the love I have for him. He’s name is Brian. As a child he was a son everyone could be proud of. Very proud. Smart, kind, loving and just fun to be with. Brian has been in church he whole life. We made sure he was told about God the Father. ,, Church on Sunday morning, We sent him to a private Christian school. He went to Awana’s on Wen nights, Children choir, ect. Brian like doing these things. Brian accepted Christ as his savior at a young age. But something changed with Brian in middle school. Life got ahold of him or he got ahold of life. It was a noticeable change. Brian started experiencing with drugs. Just like most people he started with marijuana. He got kicked out of several schools because of drugs. He had started to use heaver drugs, pills mostly. Zanacx was his choice drug and he would take as many as he could to get wasted, We tried to get him help but we failed for not being strong enough against the life that we faced. Everyday I just wanted to hold him and love on him. But not would never happen. I loved him even thou he was killing me inside.
After high school Brian started used anything he could find. Heroin and meth included. After losing many jobs and trying one program after another Brian went away to get some help. After he came home he stayed clean for a few months and started back to the same old thing again. It was tearing or family apart and hurting or marriage. Still I love him and told him so every day. One day Sharon my wife called me while I was at work and told me that Brian was found unconscious with no heart beat on our living room floor. She was screaming and did not know what to do. She needed me there. A neighbor of ours stared CPR and kept doing so until the paramedics arrived. They got his heart to start beating again and he made it. My heart was breaking but my love for him showed through. After another detox and some counciling it did not take long for him start on the drugs again. But I could not give upon him, I love him you see . As time passed things got worse. On December 29, 2016 Brian was very messed up and came over to the house. I tried hard to get him to stay home and things got a little physical. When Brian told me that he was leaving I told him to never come back for I am done with him. I had had enough and we went to bed. It was 12:30AM.. Sometime after 2 Sharon woke me up and asked if I had called the police. They were in our living room. They had us sit down and informed us that Brian had got run over by a car doing 35 mph at around 12:35. That was just 5 minutes after he left the house. Our hearts were broken. We made our way to the Hospital and he was alive but in very bad shape. He would remain in the hospital a long time. He had to learn to walk again, lost hearing in one ear and many broken bones. My heart was empty, no fear, no anger no questions, just love for him. Brian made it through it but still the addiction is there and yes he started doing drugs again. He is in a halfway house in Florida now and has been clean for about 110 days, has a full time job and is holding on. Why did I not just throw him out and cut him off ? Its because God has not thrown me out and cut me off and that is what I deserve.
God’s Everlasting Love
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God’s lasting love will be there in death, it will be there in sickness, in life problems such as caring for family members and for problems such as drug addiction.. and any other struggles you will have in life. I Know this because of my personal relationship with Christ.
2 Timothy 2
11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
So what is your story?, What problems are you facing? We all need a personal relationship with Christ to experience his long lasting love. Has there been a time in your life where you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you have not, then I hope and pray that tonight is your night to pray and receive him. Thank you.
